You will need the following textbook : J. Siskin, Ann Williams-Gascon & Thomas Field. Débuts : An Introduction to French.
You will also need the exercise book that accompanies the textbook.
The first few weeks will be dedicated to a thorough review of the first part of the book, and much more attention will be devoted to the second half of the book.
I expect to cover most of the textbook this school year. By the end of this year, students should be able to conjugate verbs in the past, future and conditional tenses.
The manual Débuts has a very strong video and aural component, which we will rely on. Each chapter starts with a segment of the video and builds itself on it.
Your grade will be divided as follows :
- Petits contrôles : 20 %
- Participation : 20%
- Homework : 20%
- Tests : 40%
You should ALWAYS come to class prepared and ready to speak!
